Breakthrough Speech is rooted in this community. Beyond individual clinical care, that means showing up with resources, education, and programs that help people and their families navigate neurological conditions, aging, and communication challenges together.

WEEKLY VOICE EXERCISE CLASS
Get Louder

A voice exercise class for people with early to mid-stage Parkinson’s disease.

Parkinson’s disease affects the voice in ways that go unnoticed until suddenly they can’t — a quieter voice, less projection, reduced expressiveness. Get Louder is a weekly group class using structured voice exercises to help participants get louder, clearer, and more confident in everyday communication. No singing required.

  When: Thursdays, 1:00–2:00 PM

MONTHLY SUPPORT GROUP
TBI Support Group

A community for adults living with traumatic brain injury and their care partners.

Living with TBI can feel isolating. This monthly group offers a space to connect with others who understand — to share experiences, strategies, and support in a welcoming, informal setting. Facilitated by Libby Lewis.

  When: 3rd Thursday of each month  ·  6:30–8:00 PM
  Where: Westminster Presbyterian Church  ·  1300 9th St., Anacortes, WA
  Cost: Free
  Who it's for: Adults with TBI and their care partners. No registration required — walk in any third Thursday.
RETURNING FALL 2026 - MUSIC & VOICE

Music-based arts in healthcare for individuals with Parkinson’s disease, stroke, and other neurological conditions or an aging voice

SongShine

SongShine combines evidence-informed music and speech activities to support voice, communication, and well-being. Classes run as 6-week programs and are joyful, welcoming, and open to all ability levels — no musical background or singing experience needed. Each program builds breath support, vocal power, clarity, and expression, and includes home practice materials. The program culminates in a spoken performance shared within the group.

  When: September 14 – October 19; Mondays from 2:30-3:30 pm
